post-general_1

Mikser is proud to announce the launch of a two-year international project Made In in the field of design and cultural heritage that emerged from the need to emphasise the importance of traditional crafts and manufactures in creating and preserving local and European cultural identity, as well as their potential impact  to a more authentic and sustainable contemporary design, and vice versa. The project focuses on establishing a platform for knowledge exchange, constructive dialogue and creating conditions for innovative forms of collaboration between traditional craftsmen and contemporary designers, with a long-term goal of revitalizing crafts, educating designers on material and non-material cultural heritage, as well as promoting European heritage of crafts and innovative and far more sustainable contemporary design among the broadest public.

The activities of the project include mapping of crafts in all partner countries, several conferences and seminars, design residences, workshops, publications and final exhibitions, as well as development of web  portal as a kind of inventory of knowledge holders.

The Made In: Crafts-Design Narratives project is co-funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe program and gathers recognized organizations from the region with valuable experience in this field:  Muzej za umjetnost i obrt – MUO (Zagreb) – leading partner, Werkraum Bregenzerwald (Austrija), Muzej arhitekture in oblikovanja – MAO (Ljubljana), Oaza kolektiv (Zagreb),  Nova Iskra and Mikser (Beograd).
